Yes, I explained it here : Is it safe to change the Cam Chain Tensioner?
I didn't lock anything
After about 13,000 km since the change, the chain is still silent
I think that changing the tensioner is beneficial, because it is the main culprit, poorly designed, with a small and weak spring.
It worked for me, changing the tensioner ended the rattling.
As the chain starts to rattle, it starts to be ruined, sometimes skipping teeth or even breaking.
I changed the tensioner at 123000km because it rattle a little sometimes about two minutes after starting from cold.
Now with 136000km it never rattles.
I'm not entirely sure but I don't think the chain has ever been changed.
My car is from 2010.
I think you can wait longer to change it.
Sealant removed, it was very superficial, just pulling a little it has fallen off.
Now I believe the cover has never been removed.
Car has 136000 km
Thank you !
No, it is not possible, if you separate the key metal sword and try to start the car with that alone it does not work. The electronics of the key have an RFID chip that if it is not detected, the car will not start.
For many years ago all European cars have had this anti-theft system.
But...
Valve oil seals or wear on the piston rings and/or cylinders.
When idling, the vacuum inside the piston and intake manifold is high and can absorb oil through the valve stems or pistons, which is expelled and burned when accelerating.
I had seen it in the oil pan in older cars, in the corners of the crankshaft passage.
There would be the answer to my question, knowing if they put that sealant in originally
I have had my 2010 156HP for 2 years and the previous owner did not give me any repair history, he only had it for 3 months.
Do you think the rocker cover in the photos was ever removed or is it the original assembly?
I know that the black paste is put on the joints when there is a change in...
Here in Spain there are car scrapyards with shelves full of engines, they can even offer you a guarantee, although it would be difficult to find one of an RCZ since it is a rare car here, but I think that in the UK there are many more and it will be easier
The THP engine spoils the oil quite quickly, with a few thousand km you rub the oil on the dipstick between your fingers and it feels inconsistent, little lubricant and smells toasted, it should be the high temperatures of the turbo that spoils it.
Of course changing it every 30,000 km as the...
I don't know if these advance variations are normal or not, if the car has a stable idle I don't think it will be a problem.
If there is detonation damage it will probably be in all cylinders.
I think the cylinder head had to be removed, probably the detonation caused damage, also on the piston head.
If roughness has been created, hot spots are created that cause more detonation.
An endoscopic camera could also be inserted first.
All I know is that a bad remapping can ruin an engine, which is why I will never do it.
Are you sure all the changes made have been reverted?
You may have to go to an official Peugeot garage and have them reinstall the original software.
A few years ago I was driving a small Citroen C2 1.6 16V VTR for a few months, very good on twisty roads, I think it has a harder suspension than the RCZ.
I'm not complaining, I've always liked cars like that. I don't want swaying while cornering.
As an emergency wheel, I have one from a Peugeot 407 with a 215/55 R17 tire that looks horrible when fitted, it fits much more inside, plus the car runs badly, it trends to go to the side of the narrow wheel.
I recommend you avoid such experiments, as I said before the RCZ is a wrong choice if...
